Job Description: Solar Electrician

Summary

Solar Electricians provide both corrective and preventative maintenance on our owned and managed commercial solar installations, including rooftop and ground mount PV systems. Depending on skill level, they assist or perform electro-mechanical tasks to ensure optimal PV system performance and communication maintenance.

Location: Connecticut

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Travel daily to regional operational solar projects
• Perform preventative maintenance, including wiring inspections, mechanical repairs, torque verification, thermal scans, string tests, inverter inspections, etc.
• Troubleshoot issues with commercial inverters, DC arrays, and communication systems
• Maintain site equipment through troubleshooting and corrective actions
• Conduct DC and AC testing such as polarity checks, open circuit voltage, grounding, insulation resistance, and IV Curve Tracing
• Complete operation and maintenance reports after each site visit
• Maintain communication with monitors and dispatchers in Connecticut office
• Represent Greenskies professionally on-site with clients
• Some weekend work and on-call duties required

Qualifications:

• Electrical License (E-2 or E-1 CT Electrical License) required
• Strong commercial/industrial electrical background
• Experience with 480 VAC circuits and equipment troubleshooting
• Experience with electro-mechanical equipment troubleshooting
• In-depth knowledge of NEC standards
• Experience in solar O&M, thermography, and DC circuit troubleshooting
• Proficiency in technical data reporting and Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
