Job summary

Moss & Associates is seeking a Solar Electrical Field Engineer to support large utility-scale solar projects. You will assist the Electrical Assistant and Project Manager with contract administration, submittals, procurement, and scheduling across multi-state sites, with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a related field, solar internship or project engineer experience, strong computer and communication skills, and the ability to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline.
• Six months to one-year minimum Solar internship or full-time experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer in the construction industry.
• Strong computer skills are a necessity, including familiarity with construction project management applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and are required to interface directly with owners’ representatives, the A/E team, building departments and other team members.
• Basic finance skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates project start-up activities, including startup checklist and schedule development.
• Expedites materials by managing submittals, fabrication/delivery schedules, and coordination drawings.
• Coordinates construction activities with the Superintendent, attends meetings, tracks progress, and ensures safety compliance.
• Assists with project administration: subcontractor/vendor agreements, insurance/bond documents, meeting notes, and RFI processing.
• Tracks costs by processing pay requests, monitoring owner payments, and updating cost reports.
• Supports change order process: creates requests, assesses scope changes, and negotiates costs.
