Job summary

Moss is seeking a Solar Electrical Field Project Engineer to support large utility-scale solar projects nationwide. The role involves assisting the Electrical Assistant and Electrical Project Manager with administrative and technical project management tasks across multiple states.

The ideal candidate has 6 months to 1 year of solar project experience or related construction project engineering work, and solid skills in project management, communication, and basic finance.

Qualifications

• Six months to one-year minimum Solar internship or full-time experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer, or electrical foreman in the construction industry.
• Strong computer skills are a necessity, including familiarity with construction project management applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and are required to interface directly with owners' representatives, the A/E team, building departments and other team members.
• Basic finance skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates project start-up by reviewing owner contract, assisting with startup checklist and site utilization plan, mobilization, subcontractor & vendor selection, milestones, construction schedule, and subcontractor orientation.
• Expedites materials by developing submittal log, fabrication & delivery schedule, verifying delivery, and coordinating owner furnished materials.
• Coordinates construction activities with the Superintendent, conducts pre-construction meetings, maintains activity logs, participates in schedule updates, conducts quality control inspections, and ensures safety compliance.
• Supports project administration by preparing meeting agendas/minutes, managing check-hold list, maintaining jobsite files, processing progress photos, and administering RFI process.
• Tracks project costs by processing pay requests, tracking owner payments, back charges, and updating labor cost reports.
• Supports management for change orders by creating change requests, assessing scope changes and schedule impacts, expediting pricing, and negotiating costs.
