Job summary

OneEnergy Renewables is seeking a Development Civil Engineer in the United States (Madison, WI area) to support pre‑NTP civil scope for Community Solar and other projects. You will handle stormwater, site constraints, permitting exhibits, and coordination with civil and electrical teams.

The role emphasizes early involvement in development, with potential involvement in NTP scope as needed. Travel for site visits and hearings may be required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (required).
• At least 4 years of professional civil engineering experience with stormwater/erosion control design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD.
• Experience preparing or reviewing stormwater management and site permitting exhibits for discretionary permits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual and preliminary stormwater management and Special Use Permit exhibits for Community Solar and pre‑NTP projects.
• Provide early civil engineering input on site layout, grading, drainage, and feasibility.
• Serve as internal technical resource on civil and stormwater questions during site selection and with third‑party engineers.
• Review geotechnical and wetland reports to support buildable designs.
• Build stormwater and permitting reference material for jurisdictions to flag risk earlier in site evaluation.
• Prepare technical exhibits and provide meeting support for hearings and reviews.
• Provide high‑level stormwater and civil design summaries for project sale and diligence.
• Coordinate with construction‑tracked civil engineering staff to hand off at Notice to Proceed.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers to achieve feasible design with minimal iterations.
• Support delivery‑tracked (NTP) civil scope as priorities require.
• Attend community/agency meetings with project developers.
