Job summary

OneEnergy Inc in Seattle, WA is seeking a Development Civil Engineer to provide civil and stormwater input for pre-NTP development projects. You will help shape site layouts and permits, coordinating with internal and third‑party engineers from early planning through discretionary permitting.

You will review geotechnical reports, develop exhibits, and support hearings, while traveling to project sites as needed. Strong communication and a proactive, collaborative approach are essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• At least 4 years of professional civil engineering experience including stormwater management and erosion control design.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD.
• Experience preparing or reviewing stormwater management and site permitting exhibits for discretionary submissions.
• Experience interpreting geotechnical and wetland delineation reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain civil concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel for site visits, meetings, and permit hearings; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual and preliminary stormwater management and discretionary permit exhibits for Community Solar and other pre-NTP projects.
• Provide early civil engineering input on site layout, grading, drainage, and stormwater feasibility.
• Serve as internal technical resource for developers and review third-party civil engineering work.
• Review geotechnical and wetland reports to support buildable site designs.
• Build stormwater and permitting reference material for priority jurisdictions.
• Prepare technical exhibits and support hearings and internal reviews.
• Coordinate with construction-tracked civil staff for smooth handoffs at NTP.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure feasible designs with minimal iterations.
• Support delivery-tracked civil scope as needed.
• Attend community and agency meetings with developers.
