Job summary

TYPSA, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Contracts Manager to join the Owner’s Engineering Team for two large-scale Solar projects in Texas.

The role focuses on assisting on-site supervision with contract administration, budget oversight, and documentation control, reporting to site team managers. The candidate should have 2+ years of relevant experience, with a preference for 3 years, and hold a related Associate's or Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Minimum education as stated: Associate's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Commercial Law, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Commercial Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in a similar role. Three (3) years of related experience is preferred.
• Strong professional etiquette and communication skills for presenting data directly to project owners.
• Ability to scrutinize contractor cost claims and project timelines against EPC contract terms and provided construction information.
• Basic understanding of construction cost control, measurement rules, and valuation processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and industry-specific software like Bluebeam, Procore, or ERP tools.
• Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Contract Administration Support: Help the on-site Construction Supervision Managers administer the main contract, document EPC contractors’ performance and budget controls.
• Change Control Evaluation: Review change orders and variation requests to protect the client from unjustified costs.
• Payment Certification: Assist in assessing monthly valuations and drafting payment notices for client approval.
• Documentation control: Maintain complete project records and prepare executive-level reports summarizing status.
