Job summary

Walbec is seeking a Solar Project Manager Summer 2027 Internship to support the planning, coordination, and execution of solar construction projects across the Midwest. The internship offers exposure to scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and team communications in a real-world setting.

The intern will participate in field visits and site audits, learn project management tools and processes, and gain experience with the technical, operational, and financial aspects of utility-scale solar projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Interest in renewable energy and project management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in planning, coordination, and execution of solar construction projects.
• Assist with project scheduling, documentation, budget tracking, reporting, and team communications.
• Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to support activities and resolve issues.
• Participate in project meetings, prepare reports, and track key action items and deliverables.
• Assist with monitoring project progress, costs, productivity, and schedule performance.
• Support project documentation, contract administration, and recordkeeping.
• Participate in field visits, safety initiatives, and site audits to gain hands-on construction experience.
• Learn project management tools, processes, and best practices used in renewable energy construction.
• Gain exposure to the technical, operational, and financial aspects of utility-scale solar projects.
• Travel to project sites as needed to support project activities and professional development.
