Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies is seeking a Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Associate Engineering Technician to develop plan/profile deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation in support of underground transmission line projects. The role requires basic Civil 3D experience and knowledge of alignments, plan/profile, and sections.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate required.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports engineering teams under general supervision.
• Performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling).
• Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
• Begins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians.
• Stay current on applicable standards, systems, document control practices, departmental guides, and BV policies and procedures.
