Job summary

TALENT Software Services is seeking a Civil - Staff Engineering Technician to support multidisciplinary project teams on utility-scale solar and wind developments, focusing on site development, grading, drainage, and underground utilities.

You will prepare and modify site plans and grading designs using Civil 3D, PVcase, and PVFarm, and provide technical guidance to engineers to ensure deliverables meet design standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with Civil 3D grading.
• Autodesk Civil 3D proficiency.
• Prefer solar project experience with PVcase/PV Farm.

Responsibilities

• Applies knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes and BV policies and procedures.
• May review project requirements and accurately determine the correct format and contents of the required deliverables.
• Proactively applies BV Quality Program to deliverables.
• Reviews design inputs to ensure consistency and compliance with codes and standards.
• May apply basic engineering principles and established design practices in developing design concepts and deliverables.
• Capable of handling difficult technical assignments and providing guidance to others.
• Performs design calculations, material quantities, and estimates.
• May review the deliverables of others.

Civil - Staff Engineering Technician - Solar

This opportunity with *** provides the chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects in the solar and wind sectors, while contributing to the development of critical civil infrastructure that addresses both current and future challenges. Civil Engineering Technicians support the planning, design, and implementation of site development activities, including grading and drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities for large-scale utility projects.

The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Staff Civil Engineering Technician plays a vital role in the delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables for these complex infrastructure projects, working alongside a collaborative and experienced team of professionals. Under general supervision, this role performs technical civil engineering design tasks requiring advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices. The position provides technical guidance to engineering professionals and technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with design standards across project deliverables. Key responsibilities include the preparation and modification of site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts. Work is performed using advanced, industry-standard design tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D, PVcase and PVFarm.

Job Summary

• Under general direction, supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables.
• Applies foundational engineering principles and established design practices to create moderately complex design concepts and solutions.
• Utilizes digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
• Provides technical guidance and may offer direction to other engineering professionals and technicians to ensure quality and consistency across project outputs.

• Capable of handling difficult technical assignments within an area of expertise and can provide technical guidance to other professionals.
• Performs design calculations, detailed material quantities and estimates, and records.
• May review the deliverables of others.
