Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Screen Printing Equipment Engineer for our Starlink solar cell production line. You will own the screen printing and metallization equipment, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scale to support large-volume manufacturing for silicon heterojunction cells.

You will collaborate with the Metallization/Screen Printing Process Engineering team to optimize uptime, tool performance, and process integration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials or related field is required.
2+ years of hands-on experience owning and maintaining screen printing or metallization equipment in high-volume manufacturing.
Experience handling hazardous chemicals safely (pastes, solvents, etc.).

Responsibilities

Install, qualify, maintain, and improve high-throughput screen printing equipment for silicon solar cell manufacturing.
Drive uptime and capacity improvements with data-driven analysis.
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs and spare parts strategies.
Lead root cause analysis on equipment issues including print heads, squeegee systems, conveyors, and automation.
Collaborate with Process Engineers to implement new requirements on equipment platforms.
Evaluate next-gen tools capable of supporting 1GW+ per tool scale production.
Engage with vendors for design improvements and equipment upgrades.
Establish equipment performance metrics and SPC for stability.
Ensure compliance with cleanroom, safety, and high-reliability standards.
