Job summary

SpaceX in Texas is seeking a Sr. Screen Printing Equipment Engineer to own the screen printing and metallization hardware used to manufacture silicon heterojunction solar cells at scale for Starlink production.

You will partner with Process Engineers to maximize uptime, drive reliability, and implement preventive maintenance, while evaluating next‑gen tools to support 1GW+ per tool scale production and ensure safety and cleanroom standards across a high‑volume facility.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
Experience owning and maintaining screen printing or metallization equipment in high-volume manufacturing.
Experience handling hazardous chemicals safely.

Responsibilities

Install, qualify, maintain, and improve high-throughput screen printing equipment for silicon solar cell manufacturing.
Drive equipment reliability and uptime for large-volume production.
Develop preventive maintenance strategies and spare parts programs.
Lead root cause analysis on equipment issues including print heads and automation.
Collaborate with Process Engineers to implement new requirements on equipment.
Evaluate next-generation tools for 1GW+ scale production.
Work with vendors on equipment design improvements.
Establish equipment performance metrics and SPC.
