The Operations team seeks a seasoned Solar Technician Level II with utility-scale solar field and substation experience. You will ensure AES CE operates at standards exceeding industry best practices, with opportunities for professional growth as AES CE grows into a leading IPP.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage operations and maintenance activities at solar sites linked to utility-scale projects.
2. Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on equipment such as inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, PV modules, and systems.
3. Conduct routine electrical troubleshooting, calibration, and repairs as assigned.
4. Prepare and execute switching and clearance orders.
5. Operate electrical and mechanical power plant systems.
6. Participate in required training sessions.
7. Perform additional technical and administrative duties related to power facility operation and maintenance.
8. Assist with vegetation mitigation, including operating tractors and mowers.
9. Document procedures, orders, and instructions as directed by supervision.
10. Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
11. Work independently or in teams to complete tasks.

Desired Skills, Expertise and Competencies:

• Strong safety awareness and promotion skills.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting DC & AC circuits and PR Array Ground Faults.
• Qualified to perform routine and emergency operations at solar and substation facilities.
• Experience with electrical/construction projects and basic IT equipment.
• Knowledge of substation equipment and operations.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and professionalism.
• High energy, technical proficiency, and detail orientation.
• Ability to operate standard business software and interpret technical data.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.

Education / Experience:

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications.
• At least 3 years' experience as a PV O&M solar technician.
• Over 5 years' experience in power plants, with at least 1 year in PV Solar O&M or construction.
• Knowledge of electrical fundamentals and control circuits.
• Understanding of operational characteristics of power equipment.

• Outdoor work environment, including heights and temperature extremes.
• Physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing, and entering equipment.
• Use of personal protective equipment.
• Potential exposure to rotating equipment, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
• Occasional lifting and non-standard hours, including travel.
