Job Description: Solar Technician Level II at AES Corporation

We are seeking a seasoned Solar Technician Level II to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of our utility-scale solar projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage operations and maintenance activities at solar sites.
• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on equipment such as inverters, trackers, PV modules, and electrical systems.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, and work from work orders.
• Prepare and execute switching and clearance orders.
• Operate power plant systems and participate in training.
• Assist with vegetation mitigation and document procedures and instructions.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance in all tasks.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong safety awareness and troubleshooting skills for DC & AC circuits.
• Qualified to operate at solar generation facilities and substations.
• Experience with electrical projects, substation equipment, and IT systems.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and technical skills.
• Proficiency in research, technical equipment, and software.
• Fluent in English with knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.

Education and Experience:

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent journeyman qualifications.
• At least 3 years' experience as a PV O&M solar technician.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in power plants, with at least 1 year in PV Solar O&M or construction.

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor work in various environmental conditions, including heights and hazardous materials.
• Physical activities such as standing, climbing, and lifting.
• Use of personal protective equipment and occasional travel.
