The AES Clean Energy Field Operations team is looking for a BESS Technician

This role involves preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring AES CE operates to high standards. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, able to follow directions from the Team Leader and Regional Manager. The position is based at Alamitos BESS I and II, Long Beach, CA, requiring proximity to the area for daily commuting.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manage O&M activities at Energy Storage sites and substations.
2. Perform maintenance on equipment like inverters, transformers, battery modules, and associated systems.
3. Assist with electrical troubleshooting, calibration, and work orders.
4. Execute switching of HV, MV, and LV equipment following safety procedures.
5. Follow safety protocols including LOTO, Job Safety Analysis, and permits.
6. Operate electrical and mechanical systems of power plants.
7. Participate in training, possibly involving travel.
8. Operate within NERC standards and report as required.
9. Handle administrative duties related to plant operation and maintenance.
10. Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
11. Work independently or in teams based on skills and experience.
12. Demonstrate emotional intelligence and teamwork.
