The AES Clean Energy Field Operations team seeks a BESS Technician with preventative and corrective maintenance experience. The role involves ensuring AES CE operates its portfolio to industry-leading standards and offers significant professional growth opportunities. The position is based at sites in Alamitos BESS I and II, Long Beach, CA. Candidates must reside nearby and be able to commute daily.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage assigned O&M activities at energy storage sites and substations.
2. Perform and assist with corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on equipment including inverters, transformers, battery modules, and collection systems.
3. Conduct electrical troubleshooting, calibration, and basic inverter repairs as directed.
4. Prepare and execute switching procedures for HV, MV, and LV equipment.
5. Follow safety procedures including LOTO, Job Safety Analysis, and permit systems.
6. Operate electrical and mechanical power plant systems.
7. Participate in training, possibly involving travel.
8. Operate the BESS facility in compliance with NERC standards and report as required.
9. Assist with operational and administrative duties related to power plant maintenance.
10. Write or assist with plant orders, procedures, and instructions.
11. Ensure all work complies with environmental and safety standards.
12. Work independently or in teams based on skills and experience.
13. Demonstrate emotional intelligence and teamwork.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of workplace safety standards and electrical systems.
• Experience with electrical safety, LOTO, and basic electrical principles.
• Proficiency with computers, SCADA, and maintenance management systems.

Education / Experience:
