Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators. This role emphasizes hands-on electrical work, problem solving, and delivering excellent customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of electrical experience, a valid driver's license, and a state electrical certification or license.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.
