Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Soils Laboratory Technician in York. No experience is required as you will learn under supervision, with paid training and certification fee coverage.

You will perform basic soil and construction material tests, assist with sample prep, and help maintain QA/QC documentation in our labs. Opportunity for growth and certifications is available.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; paid training provided.
• Must obtain lab certifications per ECS policy.
• Strong communication and basic math skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to follow directions under supervision.
• Basic computer proficiency including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic laboratory tests on soil and construction material samples under supervision.
• Assists with sample preparation and testing procedures.
• Compiles test results, data input, data processing, and other administrative duties.
• Performs soils laboratory testing including but not limited to Atterberg limits, gradation analyses, swell testing, moisture content testing, visual classifications (learn).
• Unconfined compressive strength testing of soil and rock; standard and modified proctor testing.
• Maintains a clean and organized laboratory environment; supports calibration and maintenance of equipment; keeps calibration records and QA/QC documentation.
