Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; geology/civil engineering coursework is a plus
  • 0–2 years in construction, geotechnical, or environmental fieldwork; soil testing/inspection experience helpful
  • ACI Concrete Certification
  • Familiar with soil and concrete testing methods
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel; comfortable with tablets/digital reporting tools
  • Able to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift equipment as needed
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols and SOPs
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills with contractors/project managers
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and adapt to schedules
  • Able to pass drug screening and background checks

Responsibilities

  • Collect soil samples from field sites using proper sampling techniques
  • Conduct field tests: soil density, moisture content, compaction
  • Perform lab tests: grain size, Atterberg limits, soil classification
  • Record and analyze test data with accuracy and precision
  • Prepare detailed test reports and documentation
  • Maintain and calibrate field/lab equipment
  • Ensure safety protocols and SOP adherence
  • Assist in preparing project proposals and technical reports
  • Communicate findings to Project Manager/Supervisor
  • Participate in quality control/assurance programs

Verdantas is seeking a Soil Lab Technician for our Temecula, CA location. You would play a vital role in supporting geotechnical and environmental projects by ensuring accurate soil sampling, testing, and documentation. This position combines hands‑on fieldwork with detailed laboratory analysis, requiring a commitment to precision, safety, and quality standards. You’ll work closely with project managers and team members to deliver reliable data that informs critical engineering decisions, while maintaining equipment and adhering to established protocols. What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring
