Job summary

NOVO Health Services is hiring a Soiled Sorter at our Skokie facility. You will participate in linen sorting, break down bags, and support the belt flow while adhering to safety standards and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Open bags at breakout table and send linen up the belt.
• Move carts, replace empty carts, and maintain flow around the belt area.
• Break open bags and sort soil according to quality standards.
• Wear PPE and follow safety procedures and policies.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Position

We are currently looking for a Soiled Sorter at our Skokie facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Open up bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.
• The primary cart mover (the attendant closest to the soil cart) brings the empty soil cart away from the belt, puts a new cart in the area, and takes the empty cart and pushes it to the cart area.
• The bag breaker attendants breaks open the bags.
• Adhere to quality standards in terms of soil sorting and cart cleaning.
• Wear required PPE and adhere to safety standards.
• Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
• Assist and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required: Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
• Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Preferred: High School Education, GED, and formal education/training 1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing or similarly situated industries.

Physical Requirements

Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 lbs. or more, and stooping. Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire 10 hour shift.

Pay

Pay starts at $17/hour
