NOVO Health Services is seeking a Soiled Sorter at its Skokie facility to support the linen processing line. The role emphasizes quick decision-making, clear communication, and adherence to safety standards in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Open up bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.
• Move empty soil cart, place new cart, push cart to cart area.
• Break open soil bags at the bag breaker station.
• Adhere to quality standards for soil sorting and cart cleaning.
• Wear PPE and follow safety procedures and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

NOVO’s wide range of service programs offer a variety of options to provide a seamless, single source distribution system. NOVO’s regional healthcare linen facilities are HLAC accredited and operate with state-of-the-art processing equipment and processes.

We are currently looking for a Soiled Sorterat ourSkokie facility. We are looking for someone confident in decision-making, who can act quickly, and has excellent communication skills. If you are ready to commit to measurable performance and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Open up bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.

• The primary cart mover (the attendant closest to the soil cart) brings the empty soil cart away from the belt, puts a new cart in the area, and takes the empty cart and pushes it to the cart area.

• The bag breaker attendants breaks open the bags.

• Adhere to quality standards in terms of soil sorting and cart cleaning.

• Wear required PPE and adhere to safety standards

• Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.

• Assist and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.

• Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred:

• High School Education, GED, and formal education/training

• 1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing or similarly situated industries.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 lbs. or more, and stooping.

• Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire 10 hour shift.

Pay starts at $17/hour
