Job summary

NOVO Health Services seeks a full-time Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness in all plant areas, including toilets, and to support safe, efficient operations in a healthcare linen processing environment.

Responsibilities include equipment care, reporting repairs, adhering to COSHH and infection control guidelines, and assisting with other duties as needed. Applicants should have 1–2 years in a similar setting and strong interpersonal skills.

NOVO Health keenly focuses on safety and infection control and provides its partner hospitals with a value-driven linen management control system that measures and monitors linen utilization by department to eliminate excess internal costs. NOVO's wide range of service programs offer a variety of options to provide a seamless, single source distribution system. NOVO's regional healthcare linen facilities are HLAC accredited and operate with state-of-the-art processing equipment and processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Keep all areas of plant, including all toilets, clean and tidy. This includes washing, dusting, polishing, vacuum cleaning, and sweeping as appropriate.
• Ensuring that all cleaning equipment and materials are maintained in a safe, clean, and efficient working condition.
• Report all equipment repairs and issues to Chief Engineer.
• Ensure that the Chief Engineer is aware of the need for replacement materials and equipment for the satisfactory performance of the duties.
• Wear protective clothing in accordance with COSHH and Health and Hygiene regulations and Infection Control guidelines.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines.
• Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
• Assist and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Education, GED and formal education / training preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or service industry as a Housekeeper.
• Ability to work in a noisy fast paced environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from machine for long periods.
• Ability to lift to 30 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull a cart that may weigh 100 pounds.
• Demonstrated organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• knowledge and the willingness to learn new computer applications.
• Education: High School or GED 1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing or similarly situated industries.
