Job summary

Xona is seeking a Software TPM to own the software program across navigation service, mission operations, and flight software, working with the program lead to keep a fast-moving, interdependent team on track. You’ll drive schedules, align cross-functional work, and ensure milestones are met through Design/Build/Test to on-orbit operations.

You’ll also build tooling, automation, and reporting, manage releases and dependencies, and maintain hardware fluency to support integration and on-orbit

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of program or project management experience in complex software development, with aerospace or hardware-adjacent exposure.
• Direct experience program-managing software teams through active development and live/operational phases.
• Strong systems thinker who can track interdependencies across software workstreams and hardware interfaces.
• Comfortable operating in hardware environments close to spacecraft or robotics projects.
• Proficient enough as a programmer (Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Go) to build lightweight internal tools.
• Self-directed with minimal oversight.
• Clear communicator who can summarize status for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Software Schedule Ownership: Own and maintain the software development schedule across Nav Service, Mission Ops, and flight software.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the program hub across Nav Service, Mission Ops, and flight software teams.
• Release & Dependency Management: Support release management and dependency tracking across all software teams.
• System Automation & Tooling: Build lightweight tooling and integrations (GitHub/GitLab, Wrike/Linear, Teams) to reduce manual work.
• Risk & Issue Resolution: Surface risks, maintain the risk register, and propose paths forward.
• Program Reporting: Deliver regular software program status to leadership with a current view of schedule health.
• Process Building: Help develop lean program management processes for a fast-moving small team.
• Hardware Fluency & Flex Coverage: Stay fluent with bus/payload development to coordinate with hardware timelines.
