Job summary

J&T Business Consulting in Columbia, MD is seeking a Software Test Engineer (Level 2) to support full-lifecycle software testing for mission-critical systems. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph and hands-on automation experience using Python on Linux and Windows.

You will design test plans, build automated suites, perform I&T and security testing, and collaborate with development teams to address software discrepancies in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 6+ years of Software Test Engineering experience on programs of similar scope and complexity
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus at least 4 years of Software Test Engineering experience (Master's degree substituting for 2 years)
• 10 years of relevant Software Test Engineering experience without a degree (4 extra years substituting for the degree)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, automated test suites, and testing workflows.
• Provision, configure, and maintain dedicated test environments and automated testing infrastructure.
• Perform I&T and Acceptance Testing to ensure adherence to requirements.
• Develop automated test scripts and capabilities using Python.
• Execute performance, load, stress testing and security testing across Linux and Windows environments.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux and Windows OS and test applications.
• Document test results, log defects, and track remediation through verification.
• Support hardware problem dispatch and troubleshooting in test labs.
