Job summary

Illumina, Inc. is seeking a Software Test Engineer II to support instrument manufacturing and NPI software development for sequencing platforms. The role blends hands-on system testing with collaboration across Quality, Manufacturing, Development, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in software test, strong troubleshooting, and experience with Jira/Jama. Regular hands-on work on physical instruments and compliance are required on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software testing, software quality, or systems integration.
• Experience with functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
• Ability to own feature- or subsystem-level verification activities.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills across software, firmware, hardware, and system boundaries.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and requirements management tools like Jira and Jama.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing floor support and troubleshooting of software, servers, cybersecurity, and system-level issues in production and NPI prototype development.
