Job summary

Illumina is seeking an Electrical Engineer 2 to drive design, qualification, and lifecycle support for DNA sequencing instruments. You will own jack‑of‑all trades work from NPI through manufacturing transfer, with emphasis on PCA/PCB, HPC platforms, and high‑speed interconnects.

You will collaborate across Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Field Service, and external partners to improve reliability, performance, and manufacturability while addressing supplier transitions

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
2+ years in product development, NPI, manufacturing, or sustaining engineering.
Experience with analog/digital electronics and PCB/PCA interfaces.
Experience designing or supporting cable harnesses and verifications.
Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers.
Experience with engineering change control and product lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

Support NPI from concept through manufacturing transfer and release readiness.
Drive sustaining engineering initiatives: obsolescence, supplier transitions, cost improvements.
Develop and maintain engineering docs: specs, schematics, BOMs, test plans, ECOs.
