Job summary

Illumina is seeking a Software Test Engineer II to support manufacturing and NPI development of sequencing instruments. The role involves system-level testing, and troubleshooting software, server, cybersecurity, and hardware issues in a lab setting on-site in the United States.

You will develop and execute test strategies, conduct exploratory testing, defect investigation, and root-cause analysis while collaborating with Quality, Manufacturing, Development, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
3+ years in software testing, quality, or systems integration.
Experience with functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with Linux/Windows, defect tracking (Jira, Jama), and lab environments.

Responsibilities

Perform system-level testing and troubleshoot software, server, cybersecurity, and hardware issues.
Develop and execute test strategies, plans, and cases.
Conduct exploratory testing, defect investigation, and root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Development, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality and manufacturing goals.
Implement ECO changes and lead trending issue resolution.
