Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Shipboard Cybersecurity Engineer in Philadelphia to join the Electrical System Software and Cybersecurity team. The role focuses on securing electric and propulsion plant control systems for DoD projects, including designing and implementing cyber risk controls.

The position requires DoD SECRET clearance, expertise in security of control systems, and experience with risk assessment across NAVSEA processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Systems, Computer, Electrical Engineering or IT Cybersecurity.
• 5–10 years of relevant system engineering and/or engineering experience.
• 2–5 years IT troubleshooting including advanced networking, firewalls, group policy, and auditing.
• Active Final DoD SECRET clearance.
• Experience with risk management framework NIST 800-37.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a control systems security consultant for the electric and propulsion plant.
• Write processes for continuous improvement and operation.
• Provide training to enforce control systems security compliance.
• DoD/DoN IT system analysis and security control implementation planning.
• Review vendor software for cybersecurity compliance.
• Design, implement, operate, and maintain secure computing systems per NAVSEA processes.
