Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks a Software Systems Engineer - Level 3/4 in Aurora, CO. You will lead architecture and reusable software components, elicit and document system requirements, and drive cross-functional reviews with hardware, firmware, QA, and product management.

You will maintain ICDs, model use cases, and translate requirements into agile deliverables, ensuring end-to-end verification across product variants while advancing engineering processes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience (Level 3) or 8+ years (Level 4).
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Experience eliciting and documenting system requirements (functional & non-functional).
• Ability to create and manage traceability matrices from design to verification.
• Familiarity with ICDs and interfaces; Agile/Scrum experience; strong collaboration skills.
• Proficient with Jira/Confluence and version-control tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and reusable software component development for multi-variant products.
• Elicit, analyze, and document system requirements for the product family.
• Maintain traceability from requirements to design, code, and verification.
• Conduct requirement reviews with cross-functional teams and drive consensus.
• Define and maintain ICDs for hardware-software and software-software interfaces.
• Create use-case diagrams, activity flows, and sequence diagrams.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to translate requirements into user stories and backlogs.
• Oversee integration testing, validation, and verification across variants.
• Continuously improve engineering processes and documentation standards.
