Job description

Teledyne Monitor Labs (TML)

With over 40 years of global experience, Teledyne Monitor Labs specializes in designing and manufacturing continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS), process monitoring, industrial sensors and instruments, ambient monitoring, and software.

Software Support Analyst

Our software support team manages 157 maintenance contracts valued at $1.7 million annually, providing remote services on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Due to resource constraints, we are currently unable to invoice for these services. Our Regulatory Specialist is on vacation in November, and a full-time analyst has recently resigned, leaving us without redundancy in these roles. The remaining on-site analyst also serves as our Software Trainer, and as the team leader, I have absorbed administrative duties, limiting my availability for phone support. The backlog for systems support is high, and we need an additional programmer/analyst to assist with project completion.

As a Software Support Analyst, you will provide remote support to multiple customer facilities regarding environmental recordkeeping and reporting tasks. This role requires basic Windows administration, data analysis, and programming skills. You will ensure the quality of single-server Windows systems used for operations, email, web hosting, SQL Server databases, MS Office, Adobe products, and proprietary air pollution monitoring and reporting applications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, skilled in communication and teamwork, and has a basic understanding of air quality or chemistry. This position offers growth potential within a dedicated, customer-focused team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Call Center to manage telephone calls and priorities, including after-hours on-call support as needed.
  • Work remotely with customers to gather and analyze environmental data, ensuring accuracy and procedural compliance.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer call tickets and ensure timely resolution.
  • Adhere to quality management procedures for task prioritization and documentation.
  • Update the call case database tracking issues and progress.
  • Assist in designing and verifying air emissions calculations and supporting compliance reporting for federal and state programs.
  • Document, maintain, and perform air emissions calculations and procedures using various software tools.
Qualifications
  • Customer service experience from any industry, or background in environmental science, with a strong interest in technology.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows administration, Excel, basic scripting, or structured programming.
  • Ability to prepare reports and handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Effective teamwork and remote communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Valid driver’s license; U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Physical and mental ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working near mechanical equipment, with moderate noise exposure.
Salary Range

$42,680 - $56,980
