Job summary

JBAndrews is hiring two Software Solutions Engineers to join its Customer Service organization in Kennesaw, Georgia. This non-development role focuses on understanding system architecture, defining the right solutions, and coordinating with engineering teams to deliver them across the US and Canada.

You will work with Account Management, Sales and Software Engineering to translate customer requirements into technical and commercial proposals, while traveling about 20% for customer visits.

Responsibilities

  • Understand new software and system requirements with customers and Account Managers.
  • Develop solutions for software modifications, upgrades, extensions and customizations.
  • Define high-level solution architecture and functional requirements.
  • Write specifications and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with Software Engineering teams in the US and Europe.
  • Prepare estimates, quotations and proposals for projects ($10k–$10m).
  • Present proposed solutions and technical concepts to customers.
  • Understand interfaces with ASRS, conveyors, robotics and picking systems.
  • Support analysis around material flow, throughput, operational processes and system performance.
  • Travel ~20% across the US and Canada.

Job description

A leading global warehouse automation and intralogistics business is looking to hire 2 x Software Solutions Engineers into its Customer Service organization in Kennesaw, Georgia. This is a customer-facing solutions role supporting an established installed base of automated warehouse systems across the United States and Canada.

You will work closely with Account Management, Sales and Software Engineering teams to understand customer requirements around software modifications, upgrades, extensions and customizations, before defining the proposed solution and translating it into a technical and commercial proposal.

This is not a software development role. The focus is on understanding the wider system architecture, defining the right solution and coordinating with engineering teams to deliver it.

The Role:
  • Work with customers and Account Managers to understand new software and system requirements.
  • Develop solutions for software modifications, upgrades, extensions and customizations.
  • Define high-level solution architecture and functional requirements.
  • Write specifications and supporting technical documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with Software Engineering teams in the US and Europe.
  • Prepare estimates, quotations and proposals for projects ranging from approximately $10k to $10m.
  • Present proposed solutions and technical concepts to customers.
  • Understand how warehouse software interfaces with automation technologies including ASRS, conveyors, robotics and picking systems.
  • Support analysis around material flow, throughput, operational processes and system performance.
  • Travel approximately 20% across the US and Canada, typically for short customer visits.
The Profile:

We are looking for someone with approximately 2–5 years of experience within warehouse automation, intralogistics, material handling or a related software environment.

Relevant backgrounds could include:

  • Software Solutions
  • Customer Success
  • Warehouse Automation Operations
  • WCS / WES Solutions
The Requirements:
  • Experience working with WCS, WES or warehouse control software.
  • A strong understanding of warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Exposure to automated material handling technologies such as ASRS, conveyors, goods-to-person, robotics or picking systems.
  • The ability to understand the bigger picture of system and software architecture.
  • Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to translate customer requirements into clear technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, data analysis, CAD/layout tools or Industrial Engineering would be advantageous.
