Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description and Tasks:

This role supports maintaining the performance and reliability of current Automated Collection System (ACS) applications and assists with modernizing IRS ACS applications. The contractor will provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) software testing services, including application changes, system analysis, error detection, problem resolution, and technical documentation updates. Responsibilities include:

• Analyzing defects and recommending whether they are true defects or require modifications.
• Creating automated testing scripts using Selenium to identify defects before deployment.
• Prioritizing defects and modifications based on guidance.
• Fixing and testing defects/modifications in priority order, with government approval for exceptions.
• Preparing testing documentation as needed.

Required Skills:

• Experience with Java-based front-end web testing.
• Proficiency with Selenium testing tools.
• Experience with Enterprise Lifecycle Management (ELM) tools.
• Knowledge of Java development/testing environments like Eclipse, JDK11/17, Maven, EWM, Visual Studio.
• Experience creating and maintaining Selenium automated test scripts.
• Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tickets efficiently, maintaining fewer than four open tickets at a time.

Additional Requirements:

• Security Clearance: Public Trust/Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) or eligibility to obtain one.
