We are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. The role involves internal quality audits (Automotive, ISO 26262, ASPICE) and interfacing with customers. We welcome strategic thinkers passionate about engineering to apply.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development and product management to balance safety, quality, and commercial requirements across industries including aerospace, automotive, industrial, and medical.
• Develop and contribute to testing strategies.
• Conduct Functional Safety Audits and Confirmation Reviews for software safety projects.
• Support software and hardware development teams regarding quality and product lifecycle.
• Work with the Safety Manager to ensure QMS supports functional safety certifications like ISO 26262, IEC 61508, etc.
• Improve and maintain the QMS and ISO 9001 certification.
• Perform quality assurance process and work product audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• 5+ years of experience in software (DO-178C), hardware (DO-254), or embedded development.
• Experience with QMS compliance standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ISO 21434, CMMI, Automotive SPICE.
• Experience in aerospace (DO-178C/DO-254); assessor certification preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with management system audits, especially ISO 9001.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of software quality management systems and tools.
• Location preference: Hartford area; willingness to travel approximately four weeks per year.
