Augustine Consulting, Inc. is a Woman-Owned Small Business providing engineering and technical services to the U.S. Government. We seek an experienced, self-starting Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to support PEO Soldier as part of our team.

Position Description

As a QA Engineer, you will establish and track key quality metrics, oversee rigorous testing, and ensure software meets business requirements and customer expectations. Your ability to analyze and report quality data will be crucial for continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle. Your responsibilities include:

1. Metrics-Driven Quality Assurance:
   • Develop and implement KPIs and quality metrics to evaluate software functionality, performance, and security.
   • Track metrics such as defect density, test coverage, pass/fail rates, cycle time, and release stability.
   • Monitor trends, identify improvement areas, and recommend process enhancements.
   • Create reports and dashboards for stakeholders and leadership.
2. Quality Control (QC) and Testing:
   • Review test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure alignment with requirements.
   • Analyze test data to identify defect patterns and root causes.
   • Track defects to closure and ensure timely resolution.
   • Collaborate with developers for defect resolution.
3. Continuous Improvement:
   • Analyze testing data to identify process and quality improvements.
   • Establish metrics-based quality control processes within SDLC.
   • Refine Agile and DevOps practices to incorporate data-driven QA.
4. Collaboration & Reporting:
   • Work with teams to review requirements and user stories.
   • Communicate quality issues and metrics clearly.
   • Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing insights on quality metrics.
   • Recommend workflow optimizations based on data.
5. Documentation & Compliance:
   • Maintain records of testing activities and metrics.
   • Document best practices and testing strategies.
   • Support audits and ensure compliance with standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
• High School diploma with 20+ years, Associates with 16+ years, Bachelor’s with 10+ years, or Master’s with 5+ years of experience.
• 10+ years experience as a QA/QC Specialist or similar role, focusing on data-driven testing and metrics.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with QA metrics, test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, ALM), and defect tracking.
• Hands-on with automated testing tools (e.g., Eggplant) and scripting languages (Java, Python).
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (ISTQB, Six Sigma, Lean).
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
