You will champion the use of automation and emerging technologies to enhance test coverage, stability, and performance throughout the development lifecycle. As a technical and strategic leader, you will drive quality innovation, foster deep cross-functional collaboration, and mentor a team of quality professionals to deliver world-class player experiences.

You will work closely with partners across Quality Verification, Engineering, Production, and Design to define quality goals, shape tools and pipelines, and ensure we proactively detect and resolve issues before they reach players.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Strategy and Technology Leadership

  • Design and implement a comprehensive software quality strategy emphasizing automation, scalability, and effectiveness.
  • Develop automation plans that expand test capabilities and coverage, support continuous validation, and empower teams to focus manual efforts on higher-value exploratory and experience-focused testing.
  • Drive reporting and resolution of issues related to game/platform stability, performance, and test coverage.
  • Keep current with industry trends and introduce new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve quality engineering practices.
  • Integrate telemetry, data analytics, and AI/ML capabilities to enhance test insight and impact.
  • Partner with the Software Quality Technical Director to shape the roadmap and design scalable solutions.

Stakeholder and Project Ownership

  • Define project requirements, track goals and quality KPIs, and ensure risks are transparently communicated and addressed.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for quality matters in planning, execution, and milestone reviews.
  • Lead regular syncs and reporting cadences to monitor progress and drive cross-functional alignment.

People and Team Leadership

  • Mentor, coach, and support the growth of quality analysts, engineers, and designers on your team.
  • Facilitate clear goal-setting, skill development, and team engagement practices.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify process improvements and implement best practices across the team and broader organization.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Software Testing.
  • 5+ years in a strategic or team leadership role, with direct people management.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing scalable automation and quality strategies.
  • Solid understanding of software development practices, system architecture, and development risks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Experience driving open box testing using modern development tools and frameworks.

Desirable Experience

  • 3+ years experience in video game development is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, TestRail, DevTest, Perforce, or Git.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging modern AI/ML/LLM systems to automate tasks.
  • Data analysis and visualization using Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and telemetry systems.
  • Experience with game engine tools such as Frostbite, Unreal Engine, or Unity.
