Job summary

Eaton's EPG EAS Electrical Automation Solutions division is offering a 12-week Software Quality Assurance Engineering Internship at the Plymouth, MN site. You will gain hands-on experience in software testing, test automation, defect analysis, and quality engineering practices, while collaborating with software quality engineers, developers, and product teams.

The role focuses on validating software for smart grid and power distribution solutions, with exposure to AI-assisted testing and CI/CD

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science with a graduation date no earlier than December 2027.
Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts and development using Java or .NET/C# is preferred.
Experience with Agile/Scrum and SDLC tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality, performance, reliability, and usability.
Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks to improve testing efficiency and repeatability.
Investigate, document, and verify software defects and perform root cause analysis with the scrum team.
Support software verification and validation activities, including CI/CD integrations.
Apply AI-powered testing concepts and tools to improve quality engineering practices.
