Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is offering a twelve-week Software Engineering Internship at the Plymouth, MN site, near Minneapolis. The role focuses on developing interface software for real-time controls and protective relays used in smart grid applications, using .NET and C#.

You will join a multi-disciplined team at Eaton's Thomas A. Edison Technical Center and contribute to planning, coding, testing, and CI-driven development while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced engineering

Qualifications

Actively enrolled in or graduated with CS/CE/Software Eng degree, graduation no earlier than Dec 2027.
Minimum GPA 2.8 or above.
Eaton will not sponsor CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, or visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Implement features to configure, monitor, and update power system devices using .NET and C#.
Implement designs based on product and interface requirements with guidance from lead software engineers.
Work with managers, systems engineers, and lead engineers to translate requirements into software stories and code.
Participate in planning, task/story estimation, programming, unit testing, peer review, integration and release.
Participate in the analysis and specification of software subsystems.
Implement tests for developer testing activities and CI integration.
Participate in design and code reviews.
