Job summary

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Software Test Analyst in Lansing, MI, to design and execute test plans, both manual and automated, including API testing and ADA compliance checks. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, building test data, creating reports, and tracking defects in Azure DevOps.

Onsite Wednesdays and Thursdays with remote days Mon Tue Fri.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Designing and executing manual and automated test cases.
• 5+ years Analyzing requirements, user stories (in Azure DevOps), and acceptance criteria to design effective, reusable test cases (including positive, negative, and boundary testing).
• 5+ years Generating and documenting test plans and strategies.
• 5+ years API testing and tools like Postman, Rest Client, and others.
• Demonstrable experience automating web applications using frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
• Understanding software testing methodologies and quality assurance processes (Quality Assurance, User Acceptance, System Integration, Accessibility, Performance, Regression, Post Deployment Validation, Data Conversion).
• 3-5+ years Hands-on experience performing performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner, including scripting, executing test scenarios, analyzing results, and identifying system bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual and automated test cases.
• Generate testing reports and metrics.
• ADA Compliance testing.
• Build environments (DEV, UAT, QAT, PRE-PROD) specific test suites.
• Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs in Azure DevOps.
