Job summary

Intuitive Machines, a Houston-based space company, seeks a Software Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex software for flight-critical aerospace systems. You will supervise cross-functional teams, manage project plans and budgets, and report progress to leadership.

The role requires 7+ years in software development with 3+ years leading software projects, and experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid lifecycles.

Qualifications

• 7+ years software development experience, with 3+ years managing software projects/teams.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
• Experience with project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, Confluence).
• Preferred PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full software project lifecycle from planning through delivery for flight software, ground systems, and support tools.
• Lead a cross-functional team of software engineers and test engineers across flight, ground, and simulation domains.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Manage scope, change control, and requirements baselines.
• Track progress against milestones, manage risks, and drive issue resolution.
• Report project status, metrics, and forecasts to leadership and program management.
• Project Designated Lead: Serve as the primary software point of contact for internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting knowledge sharing, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Agile Development: Lead bi-weekly software sprint planning with key stakeholders and software platform leads along with sprint kickoff/closeout meetings.

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid)
• Experience with project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, Confluence)
• Preferred PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
