Software Project Manager – Automotive

Remote
Start: ASAP /flexible start date
Cooperation model: B2B
Workload: 50% or full-time (the full-time option can be combined with a role as a SW Engineer/Architect)

At RSB Automotive Consulting, we support our clients throughout the entire V-model – from requirements and systems engineering, through implementation, to testing and validation. We collaborate with industry leaders to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for automotive technologies.

For one of our trusted, long-term clients in the automotive sector, we are currently looking for a Software Project Manager to join their team and support projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and coordinate software development activities within an automotive project environment
2. Maintain alignment with project goals, timelines, and quality standards
3. Ensure effective communication across engineering, testing, and quality teams
4. Identify project risks and dependencies, and actively manage mitigation plans
5. Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and status updates for stakeholders
6. Support customer communication and represent the software team in cross-functional meetings

What you bring:

1. Proven experience in managing software projects, ideally in the automotive or embedded systems domain
2. Good understanding of software lifecycle management and industry standards (e.g. ASPICE, ISO 26262)
3. Strong leadership and communication skills
4. Experience working in international teams and complex technical environments
5. Fluent English (spoken and written); German is an advantage
6. Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project)
7. Familiarity with version control and software integration tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins)
8. Knowledge of automotive development processes and safety standards
9. Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities
