Position Overview

Headway Environmental is seeking a Wetland Scientist/Project Manager based in the Gulf States, preferably Texas. This is a full-time remote position responsible for conducting biological habitat assessments, wetland assessments, CWA Section 404 permit applications, mitigation planning, managing projects, client development/management, coordinating with stakeholders, providing technical expertise, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role involves completing and reviewing environmental reports, conducting fieldwork, and overseeing project timelines and budgets. Project Managers work closely with Office Principals and the Technology Team to deliver high-quality results across multiple geographies within the United States.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in biological/wetland assessment and environmental compliance projects
  • Strong project management skills for handling multiple campaigns
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Skills:

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Experience obtaining state and federal permits for special-status species
  • Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) Certification
