Job summary

Mu on Space is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the Software Platform team in San Jose. You will oversee a six-engineer team, scale the platform, and evolve it into a product-minded unit serving Muon's developers.

The role is hybrid, requiring on-site presence in the San Jose, CA office three days per week. You will hire, coach, and set technical roadmaps while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance of production services and collaborating with cross-functional

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years managing software engineering teams building and operating production systems.
• Direct experience managing a platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE team including hiring and coaching.
• Strong background in distributed systems with Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.
• Experience supporting production systems with uptime, reliability, and performance goals (SLOs, on-call, postmortems).
• Track record of treating internal platforms as products and serving developers as customers.
• Experience leading a DevOps/SRE function embedded within a platform team.
