Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions is seeking a Software Integration Engineer with TS/SCI w/Polygraph to administer and support the CASA Compute Environment's PaaS. You will manage secure Kubernetes clusters in a Linux-based infra, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security compliance for mission-critical workloads.

The role requires extensive Linux, scripting, containerization, and IaC experience, with a strong emphasis on Helm, Prometheus/Grafana, and Git for collaboration.

Qualifications

• Security+ certification is required.
• 8 years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (or 5 additional years substituted for degree).
• Active TS/SCI w/Polygraph is REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• The Software Integration Engineer shall be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the PaaS component of the CASA Compute Environment.
• The CCE provides secure, multi-tenant, high-performance Kubernetes clusters in a Linux-based infrastructure.
• Tasking shall ensure platform reliability, scalability, security compliance, and optimal cluster performance.

Job Description

• The Software Integration Engineer shall be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) component of the CASA Compute Environment (CCE).
• The CCE provides secure, multi-tenant, high-performance, and highly available Kubernetes clusters operating within a Linux-based infrastructure.
• Tasking shall ensure platform reliability, scalability, security compliance, and optimal cluster performance in support of mission and application requirements.

Required Experience

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux suite of tools
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman
• Demonstrated experience administrating and monitoring Kubernetes clusters
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Kubernetes workloads (ingress, performance, networking, storage, etc.)
• Experience with IaC principles, concepts, and methodologies using automation tools including Ansible
• Experience writing, deploying, and maintaining Helm Charts
• Experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus /Grafana
• Experience using Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration

Desired Experience

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
• Experience working in a DevOps environment that uses Agile principles and methodologies
• Experience with or willingness to learn development of Python applications (REST services, microservices, etc.)
• CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator)

Salary: $220,000 - $230,000 annually
