Jobtailor is seeking a Software Engineer I in Missoula, Montana to independently develop web apps, deploy cloud components on Azure, and implement interactive user interfaces.

You will work with a team through the full SDLC, design APIs, and ensure robust databases (MSSQL/ Cosmos DB). The role emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality software.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
2–4 years of software development experience.
Proficiency in C# or Java.
Strong front-end experience (Angular, React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Knowledge of server-side languages (Python, .NET, or JavaScript).
Experience with MSSQL or Cosmos DB and NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Architect and implement web features for small to mid-sized projects.
Deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure on Azure.
Design responsive user interfaces and optimize performance.
Develop and optimize back-end services and APIs.

Independently develop website architecture for small to mid-sized projects
Deploy and author code for cloud infrastructure and software components on the Azure platform
Design and implement moderately complex user interactions on web pages
Develop and optimize back-end website applications with minimal supervision
Create and manage databases to support application functionality
Ensure cross-platform optimization and application responsiveness
Lead small projects through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Design and develop basic APIs and support their integrations
Participate in team discussions, sprint planning, and story refinement sessions
Document technical solutions, implementations, and acceptance criteria
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure adequate test coverage
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
Mentor and support Software Engineer I team members
Guide user stories through SDLC phases with oversight

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
2–4 years of experience in software development
Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as C# or Java
