TEL, headquartered in Chattanooga, is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead a high-performing team delivering scalable software solutions. You will mentor engineers, drive architecture, and partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into robust systems.

You will champion modern SDLC practices, establish governance, and oversee AI-assisted development with careful human oversight, ensuring quality and security across programs.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience building and mentoring software teams.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated project management and organizational skills with multiple priorities.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and modern engineering practices.
• Experience guiding engineering teams through technical challenges and enterprise-scale initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and responsible AI governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance and growth opportunities.
• Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and support of software applications and solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, interfaces, and system architectures.
• Ensure coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance through reviews and leadership.
• Promote responsible use of AI-assisted development tools and human review of outputs.
• Manage project priorities, risks, and timelines to align with business objectives.
• Communicate updates and risks effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
