Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Waco, TX to lead a dynamic team and deliver mission-critical software solutions. This role reports to program leadership and partners with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, high-quality outcomes.

You will oversee a 6–14 person team, drive CAM activities, manage risks, and ensure adherence to DoD-grade standards while advancing DevSecOps practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with 9+ years experience; or 7+ with graduate degree.
• Experience with DoD, aerospace, or government customers.
• Experience with management and leadership in the job area.
• Familiarity with Agile development methods, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern toolchains.
• Experience supporting proposals, basis of estimates, staffing, and resource forecasting.
• Ability to obtain and keep a security clearance (TS//SCI).

Responsibilities

• Lead a software team of 6–14 members across design, development, integration, test, and sustainment.
• Set priorities, allocate resources, and drive delivery on time and within budget.
• Provide hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and program leadership.
• Manage risks, staffing, and process improvements throughout the lifecycle.
• Ensure adherence to engineering processes and customer requirements.
• Perform CAM duties: planning, monitoring, variances, and first-time quality.
