Job summary

InComm Payments is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a seasoned Agile team building mission-critical APIs and services in C#/.NET. You will drive delivery with strong operational discipline and ownership of systems, reporting to the Director of Software Engineering.

The role emphasizes reliability, continuous deployment, and collaboration with product, security, and risk teams to meet PCI and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
• 8+ years in software development with Microsoft technologies (.NET, SQL Server).
• Experience adopting AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience operating in a mature continuous-delivery environment.
• Production ownership of customer-facing or revenue-critical systems.
• Direct incident command experience and postmortems.
• Experience with observability tooling.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure), microservices, and API-first design.
• Solid CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of experienced software engineers.
• Own hiring, onboarding, goal setting, performance reviews, and career development for the team.
• Set and hold a high standard for ownership and production health.
• Build a culture where engineers feel genuine ownership of the systems they run.
• Address performance and accountability issues directly and fairly.
• Identify skill gaps and create development plans that strengthen team capability over time.
• Own continuous-delivery pipeline with canary rollout and automated migrations.
• Manage capacity, backlog readiness, and dependencies for the team.
• Track deployment metrics and ensure SLO attainment.
• Eliminate flaky tests and keep path to production fast and safe.
• Automation raises diligence without replacing it.
• Surface risks with clear options and recommendations.
• Establish ownership for every service with runbooks and escalation paths.
• Own SLOs/SLAs and observability; manage incident response.
• Serve as incident commander and conduct blameless postmortems.
