Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Software Engineering Manager 2 – SW Development Lead for on-site work in San Diego, CA. Manages a 10–20 member team, guides full software lifecycle in Agile, ensures cost, schedule, and technical performance, and collaborates across disciplines while reporting to the GSEG IPT lead.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, strong leadership, and experience in C/C++, Python, Java; salary range provided; relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field with 9+ years of related software development experience OR Master’s degree with 7+ years of related software development experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently and in teams.
• Ability to facilitate/conflict resolution; strong emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Lead full software development life cycle in an Agile environment.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers on complex software systems.
• Foster an inclusive, engaging workplace and balance staff workloads with program plans.
• Plan assignments to meet program needs and provide growth opportunities for team members.
