Job summary

Crescent Systems, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Richardson, TX to lead a 10–20 person software team within an Agile environment. You will oversee the full SDLC, ensure quality and reliability, and align with DoD program requirements. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain security clearance.

Your leadership will drive task estimation, workload balance, and cross-functional collaboration with project managers and stakeholders to meet evolving customer needs.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5+ years of related engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience as an individual software engineering contributor.
• 3+ years of experience as a functional manager with multiple direct reports.
• 3+ years of experience as a CAM on EVMS programs.
• Experience with Agile software development, object-oriented architecture and programming, software integration and testing.
• Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Background working with Department of War (DoD) programs.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the software development team, ensuring accountability, productivity, and alignment with company goals.
• Implement and utilize Agile development techniques and metrics to manage progress and quality throughout the SDLC.
• Allocate software engineers to balance staffing, workload, and skill requirements for programs.
• Conduct annual performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to engineers.
• Oversee cost estimation, tracking, and reporting for software tasks and budgets.
• Collaborate with project managers for project budgets and resource planning.
