Job summary

Milliman IntelliScript in Brookfield, WI seeks a Senior Software Engineering Manager for the Data Curation team to lead backend services and data pipelines powering Insurtech products. You will guide a cross-functional Scrum team, align on a technical roadmap with Architecture and Product Management, and advance AI-enabled development practices while maintaining security and compliance.

Qualifications

10+ years of professional software engineering experience with 3+ years in people leadership.
Experience building and operating scalable backend services, data pipelines, and data processing systems.
Strong in C#/.NET, databases (relational and non-relational), and modern frontend (React).
Expertise in API and service development including REST and event-driven patterns.
Extensive AWS cloud experience, microservices, domain-driven design, and DevOps (CI/CD, IaC).
Familiarity with SAFe/Agile environments and GenAI-enabled development practices.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of software engineers through hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and career development.
Serve as technical lead for the Scrum team by guiding architecture and design decisions, setting engineering direction, and ensuring delivery of high-quality outcomes.
Own software delivery accountability for your product area operating in SAFe Agile, managing dependencies, and driving predictable execution.
Partner with Enterprise Architecture to define and maintain a technology roadmap balancing feature delivery, reliability, and debt reduction.
Partner with Product Management to define and maintain a product roadmap balancing business value, technical approach, and capacity.
Provide level 3 production support including incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
Establish and enforce engineering best practices such as code review, secure coding, unit tests, CI/CD, and operability.
Collaborate across engineering, architecture and platform teams to align architecture patterns and platform evolution.
Drive GenAI adoption with governance, security, and quality controls.
