Client Systems Manager | Technology & Development | Financial Services | Boston (Hybrid) | $200,000 - $260,000 Base + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Our client is a highly regarded global investment organisation experiencing significant growth across its asset management and ETF businesses. As part of a broader investment in technology, they are seeking a Client Systems Manager to lead a team of technical resources responsible for developing and evolving the technology that supports their client-facing, sales and distribution functions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technology manager with a development background to take ownership of a business-critical technology environment, manage and develop a team of engineers, and partner closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

While platforms such as Salesforce and Seismic form part of the broader technology landscape, this is not a Salesforce specialist or traditional Business Analyst position. The successful individual will bring a strong grounding in software development, experience managing technical teams, and the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions.

The Opportunity

Reporting into senior technology leadership, you will take responsibility for a team of developers and technical resources supporting systems used across the firm's commercial organisation.

You will combine people leadership, technical oversight and stakeholder management, providing direction to the development team while partnering with the business to understand priorities, improve existing systems, and deliver new technology capabilities.

The role offers significant visibility across the organisation and would suit someone who has progressed from a hands-on development background into technology or engineering management while remaining comfortable working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of software developers and technical resources
• Provide technical leadership and direction across client and distribution technology
• Oversee the design, development and delivery of new applications, integrations and platform enhancements
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Distribution and other business stakeholders to understand technology requirements and priorities
• Translate business needs into clear priorities and direction for technical teams
• Take ownership of the roadmap, delivery and ongoing evolution of key client-facing systems
• Support technology platforms including Salesforce and Seismic alongside the wider applications ecosystem
• Drive strong software engineering and development practices across the team
• Manage third-party technology partners and vendors where required
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation and technology capabilities
• Ensure appropriate levels of platform stability, governance, security and compliance
• Support the continued adoption of new technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate

What We're Looking For

• Previous software development or engineering experience, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Experience progressing into a Technology Manager, Development Manager, Engineering Manager or similar leadership position
• Proven experience managing and developing software engineers or developers
• Experience working within financial services, investment management, asset management or a related financial environment
• Strong technical judgement with the ability to provide direction and challenge to development teams
• Experience overseeing the delivery of applications, integrations and technology projects
• Ability to work effectively with senior business stakeholders and translate commercial requirements into technology solutions
• Exposure to Salesforce, Seismic or similar enterprise platforms would be advantageous, but deep product expertise is not required
• Understanding of SaaS environments, APIs, integrations, data and modern software delivery practices
• Strong communication and people leadership skills
